What factors affect the service life of the electric Melt flow index meter?

                                       What factors affect the service life of the electric Melt flow index meter?

The electric Melt flow index meter uses a high temperature heating furnace to make the measured object reach the melting state under the specified temperature conditions. The tested object in this molten state is subjected to extrusion tests through small holes of a certain diameter under the specified weight load and gravity. In the plastic production and research units of industrial enterprises, the term "melt (mass) flow rate" is often used to represent the physical properties such as flowability and viscosity of polymer materials in the molten state.

The melt flow rate refers to the average mass of each section of the extruded sample converted into 10 minutes of extrusion volume. The melt (mass) flow rate is expressed in MFR, in g/10min

The electric Melt flow index meter is mainly used to test the uniformity of polymer flow rate in the process of thermoplastic materials with low melt viscosity (flow rate between 0.15 and 50G/10MIN). This equipment is designed in accordance with GB/3682, ISO 1133:1997 and other thermoplastic melt flow rate testing methods.

We found in our work that good maintenance and correct operation habits have a direct impact on improving the service life of the electric Melt flow index meter.

1. The working environment and conditions of the Melt flow index meter should meet the specified requirements, including room temperature, relative humidity, power supply voltage, and installation foundation (generally, there should be no vibration, corrosive media, and strong electromagnetic interference around the machine). In addition, some instruments have special requirements for the environment, and should be maintained in strict accordance with the operating instructions;

2. Keep clean and avoid collision before and after using the Melt flow index meter;

3. When the Melt flow index meter has not been used for a long time, it should be plugged in and started regularly;

4. The Melt flow index meter shall be in the charge of a specially assigned person. The test shall be carried out in strict accordance with the operating procedures. It is strictly prohibited to carry out tests beyond the test range. After the test, the instrument shall be restored to its original position to ensure the normal conduct of the next test;

5. The Melt flow index meter shall be cleaned and inspected regularly, and the instruments to be calibrated shall be calibrated to ensure the accuracy of the instrument;

6. When the Melt flow index meter is not used, appropriate protective measures should be taken. If it is not used for a long time, it should be retested before use;

7. Regular calibration, etc.
